Produced in Fuding County and Zhenghe County of Fujian Province. It has a history of more than 200 years and has been exported since 1891. Shoots for preparing this gourmet tea must be bold and abundant in leaf pubescence. The plucking standard is a pure strong bud. The picked buds are spread on a bamboo sieve called "shuishai” (water sieve) and put in the sun for heavily withering. When their moisture content was reduced to 20 percent or below, the partially dried buds are finally dried in baskets at 40°C. The higher grade finish tea should has its green buds bold and straight, covered by fluffy white leaf pubescence, looking like silver needle shinning in the sunlight.
