Produced in Zhenghe, Jianyang, Songxi and Fuding Counties of Fujian Province. It is developed in Shuijie Town of Jiangyang County and first exported to the Southeast Asia around 1922. Shoots with two leaves and a bud from bushes of Fudingdabai, Zhenghedabai or Shuixian varieties of tea tree are picked for preparing White Peony tea. Prerequisite of the leaves is that the shoots have plentiful white pubescence on the whole bud and back of tow leaves. The higher grade finish tea should be naturally stretched. The bud is in the center of the leaves, which looks like dried peony in white color. The liquor is bright and tasted brisk and mellow.
